Yogas Sample chart
These classical yogas form in your chart, each with its rule and source.
Sunapha yoga
Rule: A planet other than the Sun (Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus or Saturn) in the 2nd from the Moon.
Tradition links it with self-earned means, good sense and a good name. The flavour depends on which planet sits in the 2nd.
Rahu, Ketu and the Sun are not counted.
If the 12th also holds a planet, it is called Durudhura (below).

Shasha (Sasa) yoga
Rule: Saturn in its own sign (Makara, Kumbha) or exaltation sign (Tula) and in a kendra from the lagna.
Tradition links it with the ability to run an organisation, patience, hard work and getting things done with others. Some harsh words in the old texts are not read literally today.
From the lagna (BPHS, Saravali); also from the Moon (Phaladeepika 6.4).

Raja yoga (kendra lord with trikona lord)
Rule: The lord of a kendra (1, 4, 7, 10) and the lord of a trikona (1, 5, 9) are linked: by exchange of signs, by sitting in the same sign, by mutual full aspect, or by being together in a kendra or trikona. A single planet that owns both a kendra and a trikona is called a yogakaraka.
Tradition calls the kendras 'Vishnu sthanas' and the trikonas 'Lakshmi sthanas'; a link between their lords is associated with responsibility, recognition and openings to grow. It is not a promise of any position or success.
BPHS (34.15): if the kendra or trikona lord also owns the 6th, 8th or 12th, mere relation does not make a raja yoga (the moolatrikona sign decides which lordship prevails).
Results depend on the planets' condition, the dasha and the whole chart; BPHS (ch. 41) grades the outcome by the divisional dignities of the planets involved.

Vimala yoga (vipareeta raja yoga)
Rule: The lord of the 12th in the 6th, 8th or 12th house.
Tradition links it with careful spending, an independent nature and being known for good qualities.
Raman's caution under Harsha applies here too.

Neecha-bhanga raja yoga
Rule: A planet is in its debilitation sign, and a cancellation condition holds: the lord of that sign, or the lord of the planet's exaltation sign, is in a kendra from the lagna or the Moon; or these two lords are in mutual kendras; or the debilitated planet is aspected by the lord of the sign it occupies.
Tradition holds that where a planet's debilitation is cancelled, the matters it governs can recover and grow after an early struggle.
Phaladeepika 7.28: the yoga is rated higher when the debilitated planet is outside the 6th, 8th and 12th.
The Hora Sara commentary reports a Telugu work (Jataka Marthanda) holding that only the lagna lord's neecha-bhanga is a raja yoga. ePandit shows this view as a note.
Neecha-bhanga means 'the debilitation is cancelled'; on its own it does not announce any large outcome.

Ubhayachari yoga
Rule: Planets other than the Moon in both the 2nd and the 12th from the Sun.
Tradition links the benefic form with good speech, a well-balanced bearing and being liked by people.
All conditions under Vesi apply here too.
