Lagna Makara Moon Vrishchika Jyeshtha 2

Calm check

Exempt (cancelled)

In your chart Mars falls in the 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house counted from the lagna, the Moon or Venus, but an exemption or cancellation that tradition describes also applies (the reason is shown below). So tradition does not count this placement as Mangal dosha. Nothing needs to be done and there is nothing to worry about; this matters only at marriage matching.

2nd from the lagna (exempt) · 4th from the Moon (exempt) · 12th from Venus (exempt)

  • Parihar applies Mars is in Simha or Kumbha; tradition does not count Mangal dosha in this case.

What tradition says

Mangal vichar (Mangal dosha or kuja dosha) checks whether Mars is in the 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house from the lagna, the Moon or Venus, and whether a cancellation applies. It matters only for marriage matching; nothing is read from it in a child's chart or for everyday life.

Mars is checked in the 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th from the lagna, Moon and Venus (B. V. Raman's method), with exemptions and parihars shown alongside.

Raman gives the rule from a Kerala verse, and gives the house-wise exemptions and general cancellations with it. He also writes that it is cancelled when both charts have it, and that kuja dosha does not deserve the weight now given to it; many other factors of marriage suitability need careful study.

Does Mangal dosha mean a marriage cannot happen?
No. Tradition treats it as one matching factor among many. It has several cancellations, and if both charts have it, tradition treats it as balanced.
Why does another site say 'present' when ePandit says 'exempt'?
The house list, the reference points and the list of cancellations differ between traditions. Some count the 1st house too, or skip the cancellations. ePandit follows Raman's list and his cancellations, and writes the reason beside every status.
What if a child's chart shows it?
Nothing needs doing. Mangal vichar is looked at only at marriage matching.
What if the birth time is unknown?
Then the lagna cannot be fixed, so ePandit counts from the Moon and Venus only and says so beside the status.
Is a puja or gem needed for it?
No. No remedy is attached to the status. Balance at matching and the cancellations are what the texts give.
